Pam Durkee - Toller National Specialty 2024!

I am so proud of my Aqueus Tollers! Competing in four events, both Ticket and Rider qualified for the Eureka award and had so many successes (and such fun!) along the way. I’m a little slow getting our results posted, but I have to brag about my wonderful pups! If you don’t want to read, just look at the photo!

Scentwork on Monday: Ticket Q’d in Master Interior and Exterior (4th place) and Rider Q’d in Excellent Interior (1st place), Exterior (4th place) and Container, and Advanced Interior (1st place), Exterior (1st place) and Container (2nd place) and the icing on the cake was he got High in Trial Advanced. The prizes were amazing - a HUGE ribbon, a gorgeous engraved (with Tollers!) wood Charcuterie board, a water pail and a nice bottle of wine.

Agility on Wednesday: Ticket Q’d with first-place finishes in both Premier Standard and Premier JWW. Rider Q’d with first place finishes in both Excellent Standard and Excellent JWW, earning High in Trial Excellent! Again - amazing prizes - a HUGE ribbon, a beautiful chair (my first ever!), and a needlework pillow with a Toller.

Obedience on Thursday: Ticket got second in Utility B and earned first place Veterans! She also got the high-scoring oldest dog in both the regular classes and non-regular classes (the cool embroidered towels were the prize). And Rider pulled out a Novice B Q with a second place!

Rally on Thursday: Ticket got a triple Q (master, excellent, advanced), earning 4th place in every class against some very impressive competition! She got a perfect score in Advanced. Rider got a double Q (excellent and advanced) and managed to stay in the ring! The Rally team (“Apples don’t fall far from the tree”) with Rider, Phoebe, Daddy Ion and Ticket were phenomenal (biased, I know) and we beat out four other teams to take first place! Cider was supposed to be the third “apple” but due to an unfortunate injury, Ticket stepped in with John Tarby and they were an amazing pair! Thank you, John!

I’ve been so excited about the chance to go to a Toller National Specialty and have been looking forward to it for the entire year and it didn’t disappoint! Thank you to Shelby Westmoreland for organizing this amazing event, and to trial chairs, Penny Scott-Fox (scentwork), Donna Murdoch (agility), Susanna Hemphill (rally) and Marjie Cherry/Linda Tarby (obedience). It was truly one of the highlights of my life with my dogs!
